It was in a very friendly ambiance that the first of a series of Business Lunches named "Industry Speakers Series" dedicated to Marketing started on October 22nd on our Lille Campus with Procter & Gamble.
The objective of these lunches is to introduce MSc students to different aspects of marketing roles in various industries and to explain the various process of recruitment within these companies.
The Industry Speaker series complements the curriculum and serves two purposes. Firstly, it provides participants with an update on current issues in international business and management and secondly it helps participants develop their knowledge of career opportunities and inform them of the specifics of the recruitment process at top institutions.
The first company to open the series was Caroline Bouillot, Laundry Product Manager who shared her experience from her graduation days to her recruitment at P&G. She then presented the P&G group as a whole and her department. She detailed her daily job and explained the strategy of P&G and its impact on the marketing at her level.
Then, Maud Le Bars, Talent Supply Manager, explained the "Training in Campus" process by which P&G visit targeted top European business schools to prepare future applicants to apply for positions and/or internships to its online application platform. She illustrated her presentation with Gautier Villiaume's example (EDHEC 2005) who now works in the Trade Marketing Innovations Department.
On November 26th the second Business Lunch will welcome BVLGARI the luxury brand and Mr Stéphane Lury, Bvlgari Parfums Benelux Director joined the company in early 2007. He developed the Belgium & Luxemburg affiliates before starting-up The Netherlands in 2008. Over the last three years, he has tripled the size of the business and had repositioned Bvlgari from top 50 to top 15 on average.
As an EDHEC Alumni (1996) who specialised in Marketing is eager to share is experience from his first position at Procter & Gamble and the different industries he worked for. He will also discuss the economic turmoil and how it has impacted the luxury market.
